Dizziness: Beyond BPPV

Dizziness is a common, yet challenging area of practice. Although Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) is the most common type of vertigo or dizziness, there are other causes of dizziness you may encounter in your practice such as Vestibular Neuritis, Meniere's Disease or serious central conditions (brainstem infarct). This course will revisit and update your understanding of these rarer types of BPPV.

You will learn how to perform a comprehensive oculomotor and cerebellar examination. Also, discover how to recognise and test for other vestibular conditions and understand the concept of ‘Vestibular Compensation’.

Learning Outcomes

  • Revisit Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV)
  • Learn how to recognise and treat rarer types of BPPV
  • Learn how to perform a comprehensive oculomotor and cerebellar examination.
  • Learn to recognise and test for other vestibular conditions
  • Explore and understand the concept of ‘Vestibular Compensation’
